- Detangle gently with a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush, starting from the ends and working up.
- Avoid heavy products (thick oils, waxes, gels) that cause buildup and dullness.
- Limit heat—use heat only when needed and always apply a heat protectant.
Washing (as needed)
- Wash when there’s product buildup or the hair feels dry:
- Wigs: typically every 7–14 wears
- Extensions: every 1–2 weeks (depending on use)
- Use a sulfate-free shampoo, and wash in a downward motion (don’t bunch or rub).
- Apply conditioner to the mid-lengths to ends (avoid the cap/roots/knots area on wigs).
- Gently squeeze out water with a towel—do not twist.
- Air dry on a wig stand (for wigs) or lay flat (for extensions).
- If blow-drying, use low to medium heat.
Styling Tips
- Use low heat and avoid repeated straightening/curling every day.
- Don’t sleep with hair loose—use a satin bonnet/scarf or satin pillowcase.
- For extensions, loosely braid or wrap at night to prevent tangling.
Storage
- Store wigs on a wig stand or in a satin bag/box.
- Keep hair away from dust, friction, and humidity.
- Sleeping on cotton pillowcases
- Excessive heat without protectant
- Alcohol-based products that dry out hair
- Over-washing
